This was a super fast project and I can't believe I didn't do it before!
Here's the lowdown:
I traced a pattern on to some plastic vellum-type paper. Really, anything you can see through to trace will work. Then, I traced that template on a piece of background paper (you could use fabric) and cut it out.

Using a template that I had, I traced an oval on to a piece of contrasting paper for the center of the dispenser.
With a sponge brush and some Modge-Podge, I applied the larger label to the front of the dispenser to cover up the old label. (I actually covered the back label too...they were the same size.)
After it dried, I gave the front another coat, put the little oval on in the center and coated the whole label one more time for a little water protection. And, because I love a little sparkle in my day, I added a button with a tiny gem in the center.
Much better! Now maybe I should take a look at the one in my bathroom.......

ReplyDeleteSuch a good idea for the recycle. You inspired me to keep the pretty bottles I got. Your tutorial is clear to follow.
ReplyDeleteI re-use those foaming bottles till they won't foam anymore. By time I'm finished with them they aren't looking very pretty. This is a great idea and so easy. I'm going to have to go buy some Modge Podge and give it a try.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a good idea. Very cute :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm having one of those "why didn't I think of that" moments. I am so going to do this with my bottles. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteA very cute idea!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great project! Such a cute idea. I would love it if you would come link this up at my Pinworthy Projects Link Party.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome Danni- I never thought about covering it before. I have those decorative ceramic soap dispensers but I like Bath & Body works but I feel like I waste so much soap when I pour it into the ceramic container. I will definitely be doing this now! :)
